I am older and walk very much for a person my age. I repeated that from the first of the paragraph. A word of caution from the start of the path until you are well down Lazaro Cardenas there are no cabs or places to sit and rest or get a drink of any liquid. As I stated the sidewalks are narrow and often blocked by delivery vehicles or work vehicles. Then you may find a restaurant or bar open. Until you are well into Bucerias there is no place to actually stop, sit down and rest. This walk for anyone who doesn't walk a lot could become arduous and I hardly advise it. Now you can sit down and take a well deserved rest. Once you cross it you enter the Flea Market area and just past that is the town center. This continues until you reach the Kissing Bridge. Once you reach the Bucerias ' city limits' the pathway becomes a cobblestone street ( Lazaro Cardenas) with very narrow sidewalks. This is well traveled section, but the base is a loose sand. Approximately half of it to the start of the sidewalks in Bucerias is nicely paved, As you come to a roundabout, you take the pathway to the left. The pathway starts about 100 yards or so passed RIU Pacifico. I would think well over a mile to town center. On a very pleasant day a walk from the Samba to Bucerias via the path would be a nice long walk for most. (I guess I am behind as I did not know that it had a formal name.)
Marly answered your questions very well except she did not expound on the Greenway path. Good luck in finding a good match for your mom. As mentioned, there are plenty of resorts in Nuevo, in case you want to branch out. Hope that helps and hope someone who has stayed at Samba comes along. Also, that part of the path ends at Royal Decameron where the streets are cobblestones. As soon as you pass the golf course, it drops into a dirt/sand walking area. They may have paved it since we walked it recently, but probably not. The Flamingos Greenway Path is newly paved so an easy walk, until you get to the last 1/4 of the walk. Cabs are everywhere and are the easiest form of transportation. We take cabs around Nuevo (or sometimes the Green bus - which does not run to the Riviera market or the grocery stores). We last took it right before the pandemic, so if it is running now - it may have extended its route. It turns around before it gets into the Flamingos area. The last few times we took it, it did not go all the way up to the Flamingos area (where Samba is located). I've stayed there but never saw a shuttle - if there is one, we didn't need it, but it wouldn't go as far as Samba.Īre you possibly referring to the Tourist Trolley that runs during high season? It stopped during the pandemic but may have started up again this high season.
Regarding what you called the Paradise Village shuttle - I'm not aware of something called that (unless it is on site at Paradise Village). Any idea at this point where you are leaning? When are you planning your trip? And, is Samba the only resort in Nuevo that interests you? There are so many. I see you also posted your question on the Bucerias forum for Royal Decameron and the Huatulco forum. I'll help you clarify and then will answer what I know. I'm bumping your thread up, so that those who have stayed at Samba can answer your questions about the resort.
